Here are some handy tips for getting right into the details of proofs:

Zoom keyboard shortcuts

  • 0, 1, 2, 4 will zoom the proof (fit, 100%, 200%, 400%) – up and down arrow keys to move through the zoom positions, shift + up and shift + down will nudge the zoom by 5%.

  • z + scroll will zoom between these zoom states.

  • r will rotate the proof clockwise (shift + r rotates the proof counter-clockwise).

Tips for zoom

  • For those on mobile devices and tablets, pinch to zoom.

  • To zoom in to a particular area of the proof, place the mouse pointer on the area and use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out. Or, use the marquee zoom tool.

  • You can type a zoom percentage to jump to – up to 1000%.

100% explained

When setting the zoom to 100% it is important to note this will display the proof at 100% pixel size. It is not 100% physical size of the file. This is because computer screens are of different resolutions. For example Windows machines might be 96dpi (and other variable dpi sizes), Apple Macs are usually 72dpi or 144 dpi (or even higher).

When viewing the proof at 100% in PageProof, this will display the proof at 100% of the pixel representation of the proof.
