Viewing comments in Figma

Create proofs directly from Figma, view and reply to comments – and more – with the PageProof plugin.

It is quick and easy to create proofs directy from Figma and send them out to a PageProof workflow using the PageProof plugin for Figma. Then, when a to-do list has been returned, view the comments in the panel allowing you to quickly address feedback.

The PageProof plugin for Figma lets you:

  • Create proofs and new versions from Figma

  • View comments in the panel within Figma

  • Reply to comments

  • Insert comment text, in a click

  • Download comment attachments.

And more.

Firstly, add the PageProof plugin for Figma.

To view and action comments in Figma

Step 1

With your Figma file open, open the PageProof plugin.

If prompted, log into your PageProof account.

Step 2

Search for the proof in your inbox. Select the proof. The comments will display in the comment area of the add-in task pane.

Step 3

The comment list will default to to-dos. Select a comment.

Further options are available under the 3 dots icon:

Click the 3 dots icon to see further options for a comment.

  • To view an image of the markup associated with the comment, click the 3 dots icon and select open context.

  • If the comment has an attachment, click the attachment icon to download the attachment file.

  • Place your cursor in your file, then click the 3 dots icon and select place text to add the comment text.

  • To view the comment on the proof in the browser, click the 3 dots icon and select open in browser.

  • Click the reply icon to reply to the comment. You can add an attachment to your reply, and make your reply private (if the private comments feature has been enabled).

Step 4

When the change has been made to the artwork, mark the comment as done.

The comment will now appear in the done list of the comments. Use the drop-down to move between all comments (all), comments marked for action (to-do), comments marked as done (done), and comments to be ignored (unmarked).

To upload a new version

Step 1

When all the changes have been made, hover over the proof and click the 3 dots icon. Select create new version icon to create a new version of the proof.

Tips

  • If the proof has multiple pages, click the collapse icon to condense pages.

  • Control the filtering and ordering of comments by clicking the filter icon.

  • Click the refresh icon to refresh the list of comments.
