What are Content Credentials?
Content Credentials are tamper-evident metadata attached to digital files that describe how content was created and edited.
They can include information such as:
Whether AI was used in the creation process
The tools used to create or modify the content
Authorship and provenance details.
Content Credentials help increase transparency and trust – especially as AI-generated content becomes more common.

What does PI Content Credentials check do?
PI Content Credentials check analyzes images, PDFs, video, and audio proofs to display Content Credentials inside the PageProof review experience, including whether content was generated using AI.
It complements Smart Check, which surfaces technical file details such as fonts, colors, color profile, linked assets, bitrate, sample rate, audio channels, and more.
Together, these checks give teams deeper insight into the content they’re approving.
PI Content Credentials check is available on all PageProof plans.
Supported file types
PI Content Credentials check supports:
Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF
PDF
Video: MP4, MOV
Audio: MP3, WAV
The feature uses the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) framework to verify content authenticity, including identifying content generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Data access and AI use
PI Content Credentials check is a PageProof Intelligence® feature and must be enabled by a team administrator
Your data is not used to train AI models outside of the PageProof Intelligence® platform.
Enabling PI Content Credentials check
Step 1
As the team administrator, click your avatar and select team, then settings. Turn on PageProof Intelligence®.
Step 2
Toggle PI Content Credentials check on.
Once enabled, all new proofs created from that point forward will be analyzed for Content Credentials automatically.
