Creating folders and subfolders for collections

Folders are used to organize collections. It’s easy to create a folder for a collection, and add or remove collections into a folder.

Folders help you organize your collections of proofs. You can create folders and subfolders from the dashboard.

A folder has a folder icon, while a collection has a collection icon.

You can create up to five levels of folders.

To create a collection

  1. Go to the dashboard.

  2. Click the plus icon.

  3. Choose Collection.

  4. Enter a name for your collection.

  5. Choose where you want to add it, if needed.

  6. Add a description and select your sharing options.

  7. Click Add collection.

To create a folder

You can create a folder by adding a collection inside an empty collection.

  1. Go to the dashboard.

  2. Click the plus icon.

  3. Create a new collection.

  4. Under Add inside, choose an existing empty collection.

  5. Click Add collection.

The parent collection will become a folder, and its icon will change from a collection icon to a folder icon.

To create a subfolder

  1. Go to the dashboard.

  2. Find the folder where you want to create a subfolder.

  3. Click the plus icon next to the folder.

  4. Enter a name for the new subfolder.

  5. Click Add.

The plus icon only appears when you have permission to create a subfolder and the folder is allowed to contain one.

Important things to know

  • You can create up to five levels of folders.

  • A folder can contain collections, subfolders, or both.

  • An empty collection will become a folder when you add another collection inside it.

  • A collection that contains proofs can’t be used as a folder.

  • The plus icon only appears when you have permission to add something and the folder can contain it.

  • If you are able to see a collection, you will also see the folder tree the collection belongs to.

  • Team Admins with the Proofs access can manage their team’s collections and folders.
