Explaining the role of a view only reviewer

View only reviewers can be placed in any step of the workflow above the final step. They are someone who can see the proof but can not create a comment or reply to comments. A decision is not required from a reviewer who is view only.

This role is typically used to let a user see the proof if they are interested/want to be kept in the loop.

Setting a reviewer to the view only permission role

Features of the view only role

  • They will be notified by email when the proof is up to their step of the workflow.

  • They will not be able to use the red pen tool to add a comment.

  • They will not be able to reply to a comment.

  • They will not see a button on the proofing screen to leave a decision.

  • They will not receive a reminder/nudge notification for the proof since there is no action for them to take that affects the proof’s workflow.

  • They can use the magic tools, generate a print sheet, and download the original file if the proof owner has allowed it.

The view only reviewer role is a feature of the enterprise plan and can be turned on by a team administrator under team settings.

Note

If a view only reviewer has also been given the inviter permission they can change their permission role.
