Link scanner

Use the automatic link scanner to easily check internal document links and hyperlinks. It’s quick to create a comment too.

The link scanner makes it quick and easy to check links in a proof. It will automatically scan the artwork and identify these links for you – in fact, these will be highlighted on the proof for easy spotting.

Hover over any highlighted link to view its details. Click to copy the link information, or quickly create a comment that includes it.
For external links, you can open the URL in a new tab. For internal document links, use go to link to jump directly to the referenced page inside the proof.

To use the link scanner

Step 1

Click the link scanner icon found in the magic tools.

The proof page will be automatically scanned for links. If any links are detected, they will be highlighted on the proof for you to easily see.

Tips:

  • The shortcut key l turns on/off the link scanner.

  • The shortcut key ESC exits link scanning mode.

  • Turn on/off the spotlight (shortcut key s) to easily spot the links found on the artwork.

  • Hover over a link to reveal information about the link:

  • If http:// is detected, a warning will be seen:

  • Click the link to perform actions:

    • Copy the link

    • Open the URL in a new tab (if the link is an external hyperlink)

    • Go to link (if the link is an internal document link)

    • Create a comment.

Supported link types

The link scanner analyzes text for the following link types:

  • Hyperlinks

  • Email links

  • Internal document links

Please note, links on imagery or form field elements are not currently supported.
