Comment labels

Learn how to use comment labels in PageProof to categorize feedback, organize reviews, filter comments, and streamline creative approval workflows

Written by Gemma

Comment labels help reviewers quickly categorize feedback on a proof.

Use labels to make feedback easier to organize, filter, prioritize, and action. Labels are especially useful for complex projects involving multiple departments or stakeholders.

Availability: Comment labels are available on Teams Plus and Enterprise plans.

What are comment labels?

Comment labels are customizable tags that can be applied to comments during review.

Labels help identify the type of feedback being given, such as:

  • Design change

  • Copy update

  • Accessibility

  • Compliance

  • Legal

  • Approved

  • Urgent

Teams Plus and Enterprise teams can create labels that match their own review workflows and terminology.

Label applied to a comment

Note: Comment labels cannot be applied to private comments. You must be able to edit a comment to add or remove labels.

Filtering comments by label

You can filter comments by label. This makes it easier to:

  • Review a particular category of feedback

  • Focus on urgent changes

  • Work through comments by department or workflow stage.

Best practices for comment labels

For the best reviewer experience:

  • Keep label names short and clear

  • Avoid creating too many similar labels

  • Use colors thoughtfully to help reviewers scan feedback quickly.
