It’s easy to create an email proof by sending a test email from your email marketing system to a one-time-use email address, then PageProof will create the proof for you. Hubspot has a restriction which means an additional step must take place.

Hubspot only allows test emails to be sent to a Hubspot user, or an email address that has been verified. The email addresses that are supplied by PageProof are not able to be verified since they are a one-time-use, however you can still create an email proof. Here’s how.

To create an email proof from Hubspot

Step 1

If you are not sending the test email to an existing Hubspot user, follow these Hubspot instructions on how to verify the email address you’d like to use.

Step 2

Send a test email of your marketing HTML email.

There are two ways you can create the email proof in PageProof:

  1. Forward the test email to the email address to the email address supplied in the proof setup screen when you click the file dropper and select email. Or,

  2. Save the test email as an .eml or .msg file and drag and drop this file onto the file dropper on your dashboard.

To save the test email as a .eml or .msg file:

Microsoft Outlook users

Click on the email and drag it to your desktop. This will save the email as a .eml file. Alternatively, you can open the email and select file -> save as.

Gmail users

Open the email, and at the top right of the email click the 3 dots icon and select Show original.

In the window that opens up, select the option Download Original to download a .eml file.
